OAMENII - ŞURDEŞTI - THE PEOPLE

... many fragrances from remote ages and lands overcome through these sounds... and, they seem to predict the Pain that is to come... it's the first track from the album with the soundtrack of "The Last Temptation of Christ"... I hope you like it, and find appropriate with the images, and the moment...

Last year, on the Palm Sunday, I went to Poiana Botizii... for this year I have chosen to go to Şurdeşti. I just presented you the church, the building; now I introduce you the people...

cum spuneam, interiorul bisericii e foarte mic, foarte modest...

as I was telling you, the interior of the church is very small, very modest...
they keep the custom that the men stay in the front of the church (the nave), and the women stay near the entrance (the narthex)

how many generations of sorrow kneelled down in front of these pages?...
how many generations of tears raised to the Heavens from these prayers?...
how many generations of happines merged for the good and the bad, until the death should had been parted away?...

I always am embarrassed to get in this church... the soft, white, fleece carpets on the floor, make me feel as if I would step up with the shoes on an armchair or a sofa...
everything is small... you see here the stair that goes to the choir, carved from a single piece of wood

there is never enough place inside, for all the people, but on festal occasions, there are more persons outside than inside of the church...

when the priest was reading the lesson, at the end of the service, I was outside, like the dozens of local people in the shadow of the church, or of the trees from the cemetery around; it was quite enjoyable...

then I got sight of a pigeon, up-there in the tower... then I knew that my prayer will reach the Heavens sooner...

sarbatori fericite.
