black box

de peste 120 de ani, pe Calea Victoriei se află această bijuterie...
la începutul anilor 80 am fost aici de câteva ori, la o sală de lectură, undeva la etaj...
clădirea era proaspăt renovată; finisajele, tâmplăria, parchetul, mobilierul, umpleau cu mirosul lor încăperile...

era foarte frumos... dar erai rugat să nu te apropii de ferestre...
nu cumva să fii luat în vizor de lunetiştii ce păzeau clădirea comitetului central al partidului comunist...

ştiind că era proaspăt renovată, în decembrie '89 m-a durut sufletul când am văzut cum arde ca o torţă...
vara asta m-am bucurat să o revăd din nou...

I've been there several times, in a reading room, somewhere at the first floor...
the finishes, the windows, doors, the floor, the furniture, all of them were filling the rooms with their fresh scent...

it was very nice... but you were warned not to go close to the windows...
to avoid to become a target for the snipers that were guarding the comunist party headquarters...

in december '89 it was burned almost to the ground...
I was so glad I saw it again...
